Ragine Hot
Regine Crespin (February 23, 1927 to July 5, 2007) was a French singer who had a major international career in opera and concert stage was between 1950 and 1989. She began her career singing roles in the dramatic soprano and spinto soprano repertoire, drawing special praise sing Wagner and Strauss heroines. She stayed for a wider repertoire Italian, French, German, Russian and English opera embraced by a variety of musical periods sing. In the early 1970 Crespin began experiencing vocal problems for the first time, and eventually began performing the duties of mezzo-soprano repertoire. Throughout her career, she was much admired for the elegance, warmth and subtlety of her singing, especially in the French and German repertoire.
Crespin began her career in France, to earn his first critical success in the French provinces in the early 1950's, and then a fixture at the Opera National de Paris has become in the mid 1950's. Her international career was launched in 1958 with an acclaimed performances of Kundry in Wagner's Parsifal at the Bayreuth Festival. She soon turned most of the major opera houses in the U.S. and Europe and made several appearances in South America. She had a long and fruitful collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, making over 125 appearances in the house between 1962 and 1987. Crespin retired from the stage in 1989, after which she taught singing for many years at her alma mater, the Paris Conservatoire, and gave acclaimed master at conservatories and universities internationally.
